The last post was to finish an undone process, now I gotta move on and plan my life carefully. Summer is almost here and I am going to stay in Halifax for a month at least and then decide what to do. Here is some of the plan for summer

With a little bit of delay, this video is dedicated to the one that I loved the most in my life. I am really sad that we cannot be together anymore, but I am happy that you can have a better life now. I am so grateful that you were in my life even though it was for two years only. I learnt a lot from you and I had a great time with you. Please forgive me for all the mistakes that I made and I hope I could be a good partner for you. Your memories will be in my mind and I will never forget your beautiful face...I could never have a better soulmate than you for the time being. Thanks for everything.
1. I'm back from vacation but I have no time to upload photos (I'm lazy too) 2. It is March 28 and it's been snowing badly in Halifax since morning. 3. I'm not having fun right now as the final assignments are all due within a week. 4. I had SOOO MUCH OF FUN during the last weekended. Because first: it was Iranian New Year, second: I got to know a COOL family who came over from ny. (u can change the order of the reasons) 5. I am coughing, it's my first time getting sick since I'm in Canada 6. I'm supposed to do work right now, but I've got no mood 7. Finally, I can't wait until the summer comes, I already have lots of things planned...
I am working on a philosophy paper which is due tomorrow. I am referencing a book by Descartes called "Meditation on first Philosophy" and I got to know Bertrand Russell who's such a great philosopher. I will post more about my paper which was about External World Skepticism as soon as I get some free time. Meanwhile, I encourage you to click on Bertrand Russell's link and read some more about him. His book "Problem of Philosophy" is written in a very simple style that everyone can easily read it and enjoy it. The next serious post that I am going to have shall be about the existence of God! shocked ain't? but that will be after I get back from the trip that I am going to next week.
It was too cold outside but it was New Year's Eve and I couldn't avoid going downtown. After driving around for a while we finally reached to the crowd of people at 11:35 pm, 25 minutes to 2008! I had my tripod and my camera in my hand and I was trying to find somewhere to get a good shot from the fireworks. I was almost ready when the executive of the show announced: "guys, I have some news." We all were listening "The bad news is that we won't have fireworks for this evening and the good one is......" I didn't hear the good news because I was there only to take a couple of pictures from the fireworks, so I start taking some random photos. It was only 10 seconds left from 2007 so We start counting down..... 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

So basically the guy was kinda lying (or he did not know that there will be fireworks, which is even worse!) It lasted for 20 or 25 seconds only and I was not expecting it and I did not have my tripod in my anymore either, so I just took some photos that are not very nice. Here are a few of them

After that people were like "Alright then, happy new year guys, all the best....see you later" or "goodbye, wish you all the best".... it was like all those people were standing in that cold weather to count down from 10 to 0 and then go back home!! well, no wonder because the singers and all those who were on the stage left the show first!!!
Finally, I want to thank all those who managed such a poor New Year's Eve for the people of Halifax! We appreciate that guys, it was SUCKY!
We went back home right after that and I started my new year by checking my emails. I received an email from a friend of mine with a link to a video in youtube. That was when I got really pissed because the video was.....
No excuse, I was just lazy to blog! My Christmas & New Year holiday was alright. I was working most of my time but I had so much of fun as well. We (me & my family) went to a couple of parties and I danced n drank a lil bit. I tried not to be very naughty while my parents were watching me. We also attended a live Iranian concert. One of the famous Persian singers was here in Halifax. What else did I do?! I start PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHING!! YEY...I just bought Nikon D80 with Nikkor 18-200 lens which is quite cool. I am not professional yet and my pictures are not very good. But I will try to practice because I really enjoy photographing. Here are some of the photos that I have taken....

Finally, I went skiing for the first time in Canada and it was AMAZING!! it was so good and we stayed there for almost 12 hours....I skied at night for the first time and it was even better than skiing during the day. Come over guys, it's so much of fun =)
I have my last exam on Friday and I will be quite free after that. Free from studying but really busy with some other stuff. Have some plans and I need to work hard to achieve them all....Wish you all a happy Christmas break (or maybe summer break for those of you who are in Malaysia or Australia)
I had a crazy week...4 assignments to submit and my calculus midterm!! Oh GOD! it was crazy....all of them were so important. I managed to finish all and I am hoping for good marks for all of them (not sure about my calc midterm) I posted a picture of my poster which was due today....It is about one of the heritage sites of Haliax...enjoy

Here is the case... I am in a long distance relationship. The last time that I met her was July 11, 2007 in Bali, Indonesia. Since then, lots of things have changed. I have immigrated to Canada and I saw a new face of life. The plan was meeting up in Angkor Wat (Cambodia) but it is too expensive to get there from here. We did the best that we could to figure out a way to meet again as soon as possible. ->We planed to go to Vancouver to spend our Christmas time together. But guess what; flight from Halifax is $1200, from Sydney is $2000+ and staying there for a few days would cost more than $3000 (for 2 people)!! Total of $6200+ is not a affordable amount for a few days of fun (at least not for us!) -> Then, I thought it is not a problem, I will go to Sydney and get a summer job there. But after contacting Australian Embassy in Canada I realized that it is not that easy to get a summer job. To work in Australia I need a job offer and a sponsor there (thanks to my Iranian Passport and Idiot President Ahmadinejad!!) -> Next option was to exchanging my university for a semester or two to one of the universities in Sydney. Surprisingly, Dalhousie Uni has no exchange program to any of the unis in Sydney!! I talked to the exchange officer today and she told me that I still can go to the unis in Sydney but I have to pay full course fees which is at least $10,000 per a semester (almost three times of the amount that I pay to Dal) and I should rent a place and also pay for my food and stuff which I have them all for free at the moment -> Next??! Volunteer positions? Nah, doesn't work for me.... -> Asking my dad for money? It is impossible that I ask him to help me on this matter. Even though I trust him most of the times and he helps me a lot in different situations but it is between me and Nis...we should learn to solve the problems ourselves... The only think that I can think of right now is traveling to Australia sometime during summer 2008 and I am working hard to at least achieve this one...I am working 30-35 hours per a week and trying to save up...I am looking for the grade "A" in my studies as well to leave the option of exchange open. Further more, I am trying to find a company (related to my community design studies) to sponsor me in Australia and offer me a job....but all of these seem to be impossible The last solution? Probably it is only A MIRACLE that can help us...but you know what
I DON'T WANNA GIVE UP!
Giving up is the easiest thing that we can do, but she means a lot more to me. I would do whatever it takes for her....So, here is my way,

I always believed that men can get what they wished to have. I am still doing the best that I can to prove my belief...I will get what I want, no matter how hard I try but I will watch the sunrise from the summit one day....

Since many people forget about the major that I am studying in (even my gf, LOL!!) I am gonna talk about it on this post. Community Design is a 3-year bachelor's degree. It's more like urban planning stuff and we learn about our surrounding environment but we do have subjects on architecture. I'm gonna study this major for two years and then I would apply for a program called ENDS (Bachelor of Environmental Design). This program would focus on architecture and getting into it is so TOUGH!! I need a portfolio and a grade of at least B. After another 2 years, I would start a new program: "MArch" (Master of Architecture). The whole program would be 6 years and it includes 3 working semesters. I am planning to do one (or maybe all) of my working periods in Sydney,Australia. But I need to save up to go there. If anyone wants to study architecture in Canada or US, he/she must study MArch. Ask me any further questions about this program if you wish to study that..... Here is the photo from the urban area that I am living in ;)
I decided to post some more photos from my Bali trip. Bali is one of the most beautiful islands on the earth, I believe. Specially if you travel to this beautiful island with a nice-Indonesian partner. First I wanted to talk about each day of my trip. That would take a long time, so I am just gonna tell ya some random memories from there. Everything was just fun there. I had the best sea foods in Bali (I even ate frog), I visited the unique Balinese art, amazing statues and nice architecture, I enjoyed the weirdest driving experience (It was too hard for me to drive in Bali's crazy traffic with a manual car), I experienced danger as well (I was about to die under the 5-6 feet waves when I was trying to learn surfing)....and I can call Bali trip as the BEST of my life Here are some photos from Bali and beautiful Dream Land (Click on each to see the full size photos)
I would like to thank Nis and her family for all the pleasure time that I spent there with them. I would definitely go to Bali again and as I promised, I will never give up surfing =)
As I promised, I'm gonna talk more about Halifax. Halifax is a small town that is located in Nova Scotia, East coast of Canada. Halifax is one of those places that is called "advanced village". It's because even though it is a small town but it has big cities' features. From the shopping malls and restaurants to bars and clubs, Halifax can be compared to other big cities around the world. Just last year, Rolling Stones, Nickleback and many other famous singers performed here. As in the nature, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!! Before coming here, I knew that many Hollywood movies are filmed in Canada. And now I know why is that so. You just must see how amazing it is when you are driving in a coastal route and you are facing the dense forest...I don't know how would that be during the winter, but white cloths should suit this nature ;) Here it comes some photos from both Halifax and Lunenburg, Nova Scotia:
After all, I've got accepted in Community Design major at the Dalhousie university... Dalhousie University is located in a beautiful city called Halifax. Dalhousie college was founded in 1818 and it is quite famous in East coast region. There are number of reasons that I love my university before even starting it. You would enjoy walking around the campus because there are number of classical buildings with a modern decoration inside. Also, the landscape around the campus is nice to see. All the faculties and buildings have constructed nearby each other but some of them (like faculty of Architecture and Planing) are located a bit further. There are underground tunnels between different faculties to make movement easier between buildings during heavy winter-snow. Here is a clip from my uni that I found it cool...
Community Design is a 3-year bachelor's degree which is consider as a planning major. First two years of this major is required for the further education in master of architecture (M.Arch Program). The best thing about the undergraduate program in a uni like Dal is that if I didn't like my major after a year, I can easily transfer almost all my credits to a new major that I might like. Over all, I guess I would enjoy my time here in Halifax. I'll post some picture later from both my Uni and the city that I'm living in.
It was really long....the Tuesday that I'm talking about last for 30 hours. Yeah, that's right 30 hours!! After the farewell party that was ended at 1 am on Monday 23rd, I assumed that I wouldn't be able to finish packing if I sleep. So I stayed awake even though I was terribly tired. Cup of coffee and some nice rock musics helped me not to sleep whole the night and finish everything at around 11 am. I reached to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) at 5 pm. Boarding was at 7 pm so I had plenty of time to spend inside the airport. Finally, I crossed the immigration office and I got into the plane just on time. It was an ending to 1 and a half years life in Malaysia. After an hour delay in flight to Singapore I reached to Singapore at 9:30 pm. I was afraid of losing the next flight to London that was at 10:50 so I ran all the way to the transfer counter to collect my seat number and from there to the Gate 4. The security check was really strict there. I also noticed that flight was full of Englanders before getting into the British Airways plane but an old Australian couple sat beside me that I could barely understand what they said because of their **** accent. From Singapore to London, it was so tiring....13 hours flight, non stop. The security check was even worth in London. They asked me to take out my shoes and even my BELT!! I passed by anyway and it was time to wait for another 12 hours: from 5 am until 5 pm. My flight to Montreal was at 5:40 and my family arrived to London at around 2 pm. 6 and a half hours flight to Montreal was all during the day (unlike the flight to London that was all at night)! It was like we were flying toward the sun. Anyway, we landed in Montreal and we finished all the paper work there. But, guess what...My luggages were left back in London. It wasn't only me who had this problem. I heard from many people who had this problem. I suggest you not to flight with British Airways at all! It was not good at all. You thought it's over in Montreal?? No!! we had another hour flight to Halifax by Air Canada. When I reached to Halifax it was 11:30 am Tuesday 24th with Halifax time zone!! So, now you see that I was not kidding ya. Over all, I was on my way to Halifax for....almost 35 hours and 30 hours of it was in Tuesday 24th July 2007. I changed my time zone for 3 times, so I'm not pretty sure about all the times that I said. So, don't blame me if you found any mistake on this post. The Journey started in 1988, in a very hot summer! I born in Mashhad, a city with hot and dry weather. I was only 3 when my family moved to a new mountainous region: Hamadan. I still remember the cold winters and beautiful summers there. When I moved to Tehran (capital city), I was 16 years old. After living there for a year, I left Iran to study in Malaysia! I liked Kuala Lumpur so much even though it was hot and humid. Something called me out of KL too, so I choose Sunway as my next stop, the city that I found the treasure of my life in. Even Sunway could not stand my feet and I moved out from there as well. After all, I moved to Canada and I am living and studying in a small city called Halifax. I found peace here...but peace is not enough for me. Just God knows where the next stop would be. The only thing that I know for sure is that the Journey would never be halted
